Teacher's Training Impact

Aligned to Agami’s vision in ensuring quality education is delivered, Agami Teachers’ Training is working towards that mission. Agami believes teachers are the bridge to quality education, and without impacting them, the quality of education delivered to students will be compromised.

Since 2016, the Teachers' Training program has been conducted for Agami- sponsored schools. A look at the several milestone will give an idea of the impacts the Teachers' Training program had through last four years.

December 2016 - May 2017: Teaching Science by Hands-on Practice
Agami trained in three batches a total of 33 teachers for classes five, six and seven. AEF provided science equipment for every class for better implementation of the program.

April 2018 - May 2018: Creating Digital Content
Teachers were taught to create digital content on different subjects. Creating and maintaining digital contents helped teachers learn and share knowledge resources.

January 2019: Head Teachers’ Workshop
AEF prepared learning manuals for the Head Teacher Workshop. 10 teachers from across Agami sponsored schools participated in AEF’s professional training program.

May 2019: Teaching Mathematics by Math Olympiad Technique
A creative training approach was established by seven staff members of AEF. For the first time, teachers from remote Sajek and Rangamati schools (Agami sponsored schools) participated.

June 2019: Primary English Teachers’ Training
As part of the Improving English Teaching (IET) Project, 6 teachers from 5 Dhaka based Agami primary schools participated. It was conducted by Israt Sharmin, project manager, IET.

August 2019: Science Academy for Futures Empower
Science manuals with content development process for class three science in collaboration with Science Academy for Futures Empower (SAFE) and AEF. AEF’s employee Nusrat Tuli has been monitoring science classes III - V in all Dhaka-based primary schools and developing science manuals for class III.

December 2019: Head Teachers' Training
A 4-day long Head Teachers' Training to enhance the understanding of the participants about school management and leadership qualities in an effort to develop professionalism and leadership. Ten head teachers of Agami sponsored schools attended this training session.

December 2019: Teachers Training - Teaching Mathematics by Olympiad Technique
AEF completed a 3-day Mathematics simulation in refresher training sessions at the end of December. The participants were asked to create presentations on several concepts and prized later for the best top three class presentations.

January 2020: Improving Math Teaching Skills Using KAB
Khan Academy Bangla (KAB) arranged a training session for math teachers where math teachers from 6 Agami supported schools participated. This training session is the first part of KAB's activities planned for the year 2020.

February 2020: Interactive Science Training
A 4-day program, 15 teachers from 11 Agami supported primary schools participated in the first phase of Interactive Science Training program led by Agami's self-developed training manual - Interactive Teachers' Training for Science.

This training was designed to provide teachers a deeper understanding of both Science Teaching and Continuous Assessment, through sample lesson plans. This was to prepare the teachers for an earlier adaptation of the forthcoming plan by the Ministry of Education, Bangladesh to implement Continuous Assessment in class I-V from 2021.
