Agami-BCC MoU : Signed Today in Dhaka
(Dhaka – January 19, 2016) Agami today announced a partnership with Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) in their initiative to “Localize Khan Academy” in Bangladesh. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed this morning between Agami and the Bangladesh Computer Council, to this effect. The initiative was launched last year in July, through a partnership between Agami and Grameenphone with the goal of launching the Khan Academy Bangla website in 2016.
The signing ceremony took place in Dhaka this morning in the presence of the honorable State Minister for the Ministry of ICT Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Executive Director of Agami Education Foundation Ms. Nafisa Khanam, Executive Director of the Bangladesh Computer Council Mr. SM Ashraful Islam and other officials from the Ministry and Agami.
Since the launch of the initiative over 6 months ago, the initial phase of the website localization work has been completed and launching of the Bangla website is expected soon. With the inclusion of BCC, as the newest partner along with Agami and Grameenphone, the initiative can be expected to further accelerate with the long term goal of bringing the localized Bangla Khan Academy platform to students and teachers all across the country in the next 3-5 years.
Khan Academy (www.khanacademy.org) is a non-profit educational organization created in 2006 by educator Salman Khan to provide "a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere". It provides free online materials and resources to support personalized education for learners of all ages. The Khan Academy platform contains practice exercises, instructional videos, dashboard analytics and teacher tools which empower learners in and outside of the classroom to study at their own pace.
