Agami Student Internship Program

Agami’s student internship program aims to connect local high school and college students with different Agami projects in Bangladesh. While projects may vary in scope and duration, usually each project will include a visit to an Agami school in Bangladesh and working with the students, teaching staff and the community there. Agami will co-ordinate the visits and provide guidance to design and implement the projects. The interns are expected to bring their own ideas and skills, and work with Agami to develop and execute a project that will meet a particular need at the participating schools in Bangladesh, as well as give the interns an opportunity to further develop their skills and interests.

Program Duration:

  • Total duration: 2 to 4 weeks; 20 to 30 hours minimum
  • Onsite (Agami School in Bangladesh): 10 to 15 hours minimum.
  • Pre and post visit activities (project planning, fundraising, report writing): 10 to 15 hours minimum.

Program Details:

  • Agami will define the project goal.
  • The intern will design the project to meet that goal, with assistance from Agami student advisor.
  • The intern will execute the project on location.
  • The intern will submit a report upon completion of the project. Agami will retain the right to use the contents of the report (including pictures, videos) for publicity, website, etc.
  • In addition, interns are encouraged to share their experience with future interns and Agami patrons, through participation in Agami events, and contributions to Agami newsletters and website contents.

Agami is now accepting applications for Summer and Winter 2011 programs. Several projects are available. Interested students can apply for an internship position by filling out the application form.
